Additional Information
The Tuition Exchange application deadline for freshman applicants is January 15. American University receives approximately 250-300 applications each year and selects approximately 25 to 30 students to receive the Tuition Exchange scholarship at the freshman level. This selection process is very competitive. Tuition Exchange awards are based on academic merit, standardized testing results and overall fit of the candidate with the University. The value of the award for the 2022-2023 academic year is $40,000. Freshman applicants must meet the January 15 admission application deadline to be considered for the award. If applying for Early Decision, the deadline is November 15th. Selected recipients will be notified in their acceptance letters.

American University also accepts applications for Tuition Exchange from currently enrolled students at the University. Applications should be submitted by the January 15 deadline. Notification is provided with the completion of the spring semester.

Questions pertaining to TE candidates from AU applying to other institutions should be directed to hrpayrollhelp@american.edu
