Founded in 1846, the University of Mount Union was one of the nation's first co-educational colleges. A liberal arts college associated with the United Methodist Church, Mount Union's 115-acre campus is located in Alliance, Ohio (population 25,000), just 70 miles from Cleveland, OH and 80 miles from Pittsburgh, PA.
Mount Union offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and five pre-professional programs. Most students live on campus, and Mount Union offers a variety of residence hall options. Students can live in traditional residence halls, halls with suite-style living, honors housing, theme housing and apartment style housing.
In addition to having four national fraternities, three national sororities and one local sorority, Mount Union offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Students can become involved in approximately 80 organizations, as well as intramural sports. Mount Union also boasts competitive athletic teams, through the prestigious Ohio Athletic Conference. Students have opportunities to study abroad, student teach abroad, become involved in volunteer work and obtain highly selective internships.
