Additional Information
Founded in 1860, Bard College is a four-year residential college of the liberal arts and sciences Bard's Annandale-on-Hudson campus is an hour and a half north of New York City on a 1000-acre campus overlooking the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains. This campus hosts 1900 undergraduate students but Bard works with more than 6000 students worldwide through local, national and international programs, partnerships and campuses within the Bard Network.

The College offers programs across four divisions: Science, Mathematics and Computing; Languages and Literature; Social Studies; and the Arts and all students must complete five academic pillars of the Bard education. These pillars challenge students in unique ways and promote the development of critical thinking, creative problem solving, writing and science literacy skills. All students must complete a year-long senior project during their Bard career, working one-on-one with a faculty advisor within the student?s major field of study.

The student to faculty ratio is 10:1 and the average class size is just 14 students. Students explore their courses through intimate discussion based classes rather than large lectures and the atmosphere amongst students and faculty fosters collaboration and interdisciplinary thinking.

Finally, Bard is home to the Bard College Conservatory of Music, a five-year double degree program for students interested in classical instrumental performance, composition and vocal arts.

Bard's Tuition Exchange Requirements: Accepted students must demonstrate both academic success AND financial need. All applicants must submit FAFSA form and the CSS Profile, regardless of income. Scholarship is available for undergraduate study only. Tuition Exchange Scholarship awards are very competitive with about 30% of admitted applicants receiving an award.
