Availability: We have a good ratio of TE imports to exports. We accept imports first come/first served, and so far have not had to set limits (your chances of being accepted for TE are good).
The College: Religious affiliation: Roman Catholic, started by Sisters of St. Benedict 100 years ago. Financially healthy. 14 to 1 student-teacher ratio.
U.S. News and World Report Rating: Placed in first=top tier of Midwestern Universities.
Majors: 49 majors; strong national reputation in medically related fields such as nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, health information management (which this College pioneered); also education, management, computer information systems; many other strong majors in social sciences, sciences and liberal arts, especially music, English, communications.
Size: Enrollment of over 4000 students including undergraduates, graduates, and Extended Studies. 65/35 women/men (became coed in 1968). About 2100 traditional undergraduates.
Campus: 186 acres located on a ridge overlooking beautiful Lake Superior. Very friendly students, faculty and administration/staff; very helpful; strong adviser/ advisee relationships. Faculty available--give much time to students. Active student government and more than 65 student organizations and clubs.
Foreign Study: Programs in Ireland, Russia, Mexico, Germany, Tanzania, France, China, Morocco, India and others from time-to-time.
Extracurricular: Varsity and intramural sports, theatre, and over 65 extra- curricular activities. Great for outdoor sports, including winter sports. Skiing on and adjacent to campus.
Duluth: 150,000 in immediate metropolitan area; 140 miles from Twin Cities; easy transportation access; rated in top ten U.S. cities for outdoor recreation by Outside magazine.
