Additional Information
The University of Richmond is an independent, privately-endowed institution of higher education that provides a comprehensive academic program with schools of arts & sciences, business, and leadership studies for our 3,000 undergraduate students. Nestled on the edge of the city of Richmond, most undergraduates elect to live on campus all four years with strong involvement in athletics, arts, community service, and globally-minded experiences. Every undergraduate is eligible to receive up to $4,000 for at least one summer research or internship experience through the Richmond Guarantee.

The University received approximately 150 Tuition Exchange (TE) applications for 2021-2022. TE award notification will be communicated with the admission decision. If a student is applying for TE in the Early Decision I or II (ED I/ED II) or Early Action (EA) process, his/her TE application must be received by the corresponding ED I, ED II, or EA admission application deadline. If they are not going to receive a TE scholarship in the ED applicant pool, they will be notified and released from the binding nature of the early decision process. The TE application deadline for ED I and EA is November 1 and for ED II and Regular Decision is January 1. One must file his/her TE application before being admitted; however, a TE applicant will only be considered and ranked for a TE scholarship after he/she has been admitted. New TE scholarships are occasionally available to current UR upperclassmen who enrolled without a TE scholarship; this decision is made annually in April, and there is no guarantee. Sponsor institutions should file TE applications for currently enrolled UR students who are applying for a new TE scholarship by January 15,

UR's TE scholarship for 2021-22 will be $39,000. TE scholarship recipients who are Virginia residents must also apply for the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG). No foreign exchange programs are covered by the TE benefit unless tuition is due solely to the University of Richmond; we have several programs that meet this criteria. No summer sessions are covered by the TE benefit.
