Additional Information
Utica University: Tradition. Opportunity. Transformation.

For more than 60 years, Utica University has grown and evolved to provide students with the tools they need to succeed in their education, careers and life. Founded by Syracuse University in 1946, UC is an independently accredited private institution in Upstate New York. The variety of 38 majors, 29 minors and 20 graduate programs, including masters, doctoral and special programs, provide flexibility for traditional and nontraditional students. Utica's classes integrate liberal arts with professional studies in an environment where small class sizes of about 20 students allow one-on-one time with professors. Ninety-two percent of faculty members have earned a Ph.D. or the highest degree in their field. Each student has the opportunity to explore and learn about his or her world, either in other countries or right here on campus. Undergraduate research, fieldwork, internships and more than 45 study abroad programs give an opportunity to travel and study in some of the most unique places that are rich in culture and tradition. The University student body is a cultural experience in itself; students represent 47 states and 46 countries, and all are diverse in ethnicity, background, perspective and experience. Students have the opportunity to participate in more than 70 clubs and organizations, including Greek life, religious groups, major-related groups, and more. Almost 70% of Utica students engage in more than 16 club and intramural sports, which are open to all students and provide enjoyable activities all year round. Students can also utilize the athletic facilities around campus as well as in the Harold T. Clark Jr. Athletic Center, which consists of a newly remodeled fitness center with the latest equipment, a large gymnasium with three full-length courts, Olympic-size pool, racquetball courts and dance rooms. Utica University Pioneers participate in 25 varsity sports and are members of Empire 8, NCAA, Eastern College Athletic Conference and New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association. Almost every day, there are events taking place on campus that students can participate and engage in between classes and on the weekend. Concerts, movie viewings, art gallery exhibits, music and theater performances, lectures and more are frequent on campus, as well as in the surrounding community. Utica's diverse and welcoming atmosphere and its variety of opportunities available are the main reasons why over 20,000 alumni worldwide are proud to call Utica their school. Tuition Exchange scholarships are not available for online programs or the Accelerated programs such as the Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program.

No matter what you’re interested in studying, there’s a school on the list for you.
