Additional Information
Whittier College is a four-year, independent, liberal arts college distinguished by its small size, a nationally recognized liberal arts curriculum and innovative interdisciplinary programs. Situated on 74 acres just 18 miles southeast of Los Angeles, Whittier offers small town charm along with many of the amenities of a metropolitan community. Approximately 85% undergraduates participate in the Liberal Education Program, which stresses the interconnectedness of fields of knowledge through paired and team-taught courses. The rest participate in the Whittier Scholars Program, which allows students to design their own majors under the guidance of faculty mentors. Graduate courses lead to the Masters of Arts degree in Education or a teaching credential. Whittier College provides 26 majors in 23 disciplines leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree. There are 90% percent of the college's 96 full-time professors hold terminal degrees in their fields. All courses at Whittier are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants. Whittier College and individual faculty members have been recognized as the "Best Advisors in the West" by the National Association of Academic Advisors. The student-faculty ratio is 13:1. Most students at Whittier feel that living in residence halls not only provides a "home away from home," but provides a challenging and fulfilling environment that maximizes personal growth and encourages academic success. Parking is free. Tuition exchange awards based on academic merit. TE certification and application deadline January 31st.

No matter what you’re interested in studying, there’s a school on the list for you.
