Additional Information
Founded in 1891, The College of Idaho is the state's first private liberal arts college. We're a close-knit community of 1,100 scholars, athletes, artists and critical thinkers who aim to push ourselves - and each other - to new heights.
We're a surprisingly diverse place, with people from many states and countries, more than 80 majors and minors to choose from, and a uniquely flexible undergraduate curriculum.
The PEAK curriculum at the C of I challenges students to embark on a self-designed and well-rounded educational experience. With one major and three minors spanning four academic areas, guided exploration allows scholars to climb higher and see farther into the liberal arts.
This personal journey is boundless when students couple studies with robust co-curricular involvement. Beyond the walls of the classroom and in the community, getting involved in just one club, organization, or affinity group can be transformational and contribute to a student's success. Intersecting student involvement and academics creates learners and citizens that can do more.
Over the course of four years, involved students can enjoy and reflect upon the value of more meaningful experiences, develop more refined leadership and professional skills through occupational involvement, have more fun and let off steam with recreational offerings and exit the college more prepared for a career or further academic pursuits by completing an experiential, high impact opportunity.
The College of Idaho sits adjacent to the history district of Caldwell, a city of more than 50,000 that lies at the heart of Idaho's booming wine industry, and just 30 minutes northwest of Boise. Beauty surrounds the college's campus in southwest Idaho. Located in a region known as the Treasure Valley, our campus is ideally situated for both outdoor enthusiasts and those who want to enjoy the opportunities of a big city while living in a safe, residential community.
