New students are invited to apply for a 2022-2023 Tuition Exchange Scholarship. Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA, has over 2,100 undergraduate and graduate students (on-campus and online) in over 60 programs in our areas of excellence: sustainability and health, business and communication, and the arts and sciences.
Chatham is the alma mater of environmental icon Rachel Carson (Class of ?29), and is recognized as a leader in the field of sustainability, routinely ranking within the top 25 universities in the world for sustainability as measured by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE)?s Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS). Building on these accomplishments, Chatham is home to one of the world?s first campuses in higher education dedicated to the study of sustainability, Eden Hall Campus.

Tuition Exchange is extremely competitive at Chatham University. Four to six Tuition Exchange Scholarships are offered per year. Qualified candidates are selected through a holistic review of the admission application, including cumulative grade point average, standardized test scores, a campus visit and interview, and service to the community. All Federal & State grants are deducted from the Tuition Exchange scholarship. The Tuition Exchange scholarship covers undergraduate credits and does not pertain to the courses taken at the UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing for the completion of the Pathways to Nursing Program or other external curricular partnerships. A tuition exchange application and Chatham University Admissions Application must be submitted by January 15. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed by March 1. Applicants will be notified by March 15. Beginning in 2017-18, we will no longer offer free room with these scholarships. Prior scholarship awards will be grandfathered.
